Enrol to Vote Week 2009 has now successfully wrapped up with over 1800 schools across Australia participating. Schools are now encouraged to return their enrolment forms to the AEC by the end of August for processing.

You can still enrol to vote

Enrol to Vote Week may be over for this year, but you can enrol to vote or update your enrolment at any time.

Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) website, and are also available from any AEC, Australia Post, Medicare or Centrelink office or by calling 13 23 26.

Please Remember:
  • if you're 18 or over and an Australian citizen, you have to enrol to vote
  • if you're 17, you can enrol now to be ready to vote when you are 18
  • update your enrolment every time you move

"It is your right and responsibility if you’re an Australian citizen to enrol and vote as soon as you turn 18, but if you’re 17 years old remember that you can also enrol now so you’re ready to vote as soon as you turn 18."

Ed Killesteyn,
Electoral
Commissioner
